Kernewek Fine Arts Fabrics

The Kernewek range is a new concept from Cornwall (Kernewek is the old Cornish-language name for Cornish itself).  Forget dye sublimation being necessary for colour depth.  Forget plasticky coatings that fundamentally change and reduce the reasons your customers were interested in custom-printed textiles in the first place.  Kernow Coatings has developed a process to enable a range of materials with high-quality, water-based and clean inkjet receiver chemistryembedded directly into the textile (no ‘gesso’, no primer).  It requires great chemistry; it requires excellent textile control, and it requires fanatical process to make this repeatable in the way digital printing demands.

The fabric is of the highest quality, even and seedless, to minimise ‘surprises’ (!) when printing.

St Ives Fine Art

Is a 400gsm 100% Cotton, Full Panama woven cloth.

The Full Panama, double-warp, double-weft specification accentuates a fine, heavy and luxurious texture, while delivering excellent tear-strength and resistance to deformation.

Newlyn Fine Art

Marazion Fine Art

Is a 260gsm 100% Cotton fabric, impregnated to UK ‘Schedule 3’ furniture grade fire retardence.  This means it is impingement-resistant, so that, for instance, it should not burn from a lighted cigarette falling on it.

Tresco Design

Tintagel

Is a 140gsm 65/35 Polyester/Cotton mix, cleaned and bleached, but a degree of optical brightner.  It has a higher whitepoint than the other fabrics in the range, making it particularly suitable for photographic rendering and mono images.
